Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
About this site
ToGather is a research archive run by Sharon Avraham, an individual researcher based in Portugal (st.avraham@gmail.com). By using the site, you agree to these terms. How personal data is handled is explained on the Privacy and cookies page.
Reusing archive material
Interviews, photographs, field notes and texts on this site are © Sharon Avraham and the people interviewed, unless marked otherwise. You are welcome to quote short passages for research, teaching, journalism or commentary, with credit to ToGather and a link to the page. For anything longer, for photographs, or for commercial use, write to me first.
The Research Companion
The Research Companion is an AI assistant powered by Google Gemini. It answers from the archive, and its answers are generated automatically and can contain mistakes. Treat them as a starting point and check the linked sources. Answers are not professional, legal or financial advice.
Who can use it
Anyone can read the public parts of the site. To contribute you need an account and must be at least 16 years old.
What contributors can submit
If your application is approved, you can submit interview transcripts, field notes, community suggestions, and corrections based on your own research or lived experience.
What you may not submit
Do not submit copyrighted material, identifying information for people who asked to stay anonymous, marketing material, harassment, or AI-generated content passed off as your own observation.
Editorial control
I review every submission before it goes public and can decline or remove anything that does not fit the project's scope or standards. This is not a public forum; it is a curated research archive.
Ownership
You keep ownership of what you write. By submitting, you give me permission to publish it on this site, edit it lightly for clarity, and archive it. Photographs and original material gathered by me as the researcher belong to me.
What I commit to
I will store your contributions securely, review applications within a reasonable time, credit your work clearly, and respond to data requests within 14 days.
No guarantees
I do not promise 100% uptime or that every submission will be approved. The site is provided as-is.
If you break these terms
If you break these terms, I will remove the content in question and may disable your account. I will tell you why if it is safe and practical to do so.
Disputes
Email me first at st.avraham@gmail.com. Most things can be resolved by talking. If a formal dispute is unavoidable, these terms are governed by Portuguese law, without taking away any protection you have under the law of the country where you live.
Changes
If I update these terms in a meaningful way, I will update the date above and let contributors know via the site inbox.
