The MEV is growing fast (here's what that means for you)
Things have been moving quickly over here, and I wanted to give you another update on where we're at and what's coming next.
📺 New podcast episode
This week Alisa and Iancu sat down for an in-depth conversation about the vision behind The MEV, current updates, and what we’re actually creating here. This episode highlights the community and members aspect of it. Watch it here:https://youtu.be/7w2OfXQVucA?si=wVA_6WBZztnAkNtW
We've hit a momentum we didn't expect
The past few months have brought more attention to The MEV than we anticipated at this stage. From our viral social videos, national newspaper features, and even radio coverage, the response has been overwhelming, but it’s also been affirming to see how many people are searching for exactly what we're building here.
Right now, we're approaching 200 members from 27 countries. In just the last couple of months, 30 new households have joined so the community is growing quickly and it's honestly been amazing to watch the community step in and support each other through the process.
What's happening behind the scenes
With all the attention and growth, we've been getting incredible reach outs from people and companies who want to work with us:
🔧 We're talking with suppliers for tiles, kitchens, bathrooms, and other finishing materials to ensure we're working with the best quality options for our homes.
🚰 We're currently in discussions with a company that makes drinking water from condensation and operating entirely on solar power. We're exploring the possibility of fitting the showhouse with a demo model so everyone can see this technology in action.
☀️ We've also been working with our engineers on expanding our solar capacity. While many solar panels will go on townhouse roofs, we're planning on having solar parks throughout The MEV. With permaculture in mind, we're exploring solutions that work with nature, like using the shade from solar panels for car parking areas, overhead gazebos, shaded walking paths, or even agriculture where crops can grow in the shade of the panels.
What's changing with membership (and why now matters)
Last month, we raised the membership fee from €10,000 to €15,000, and over the coming months (around summer time) we'll be phasing out the standalone membership option altogether. The intention is to simplify things so that joining the community and reserving your home happen in one step rather than two to make the process more streamlined. So if you've been sitting on the fence about joining, now is probably a good time to take that next step orreach out to us with any questions.
If you've been thinking about joining the community but haven't acted yet, this is a great time to reach out to our team and we can talk about your future here. ☺️

Here's what becoming a member actually does: 🌳
You're in the community from day one. Weekly member calls, regular gatherings every few months, introductions to other members who share your values. Many members are already moving to the area, meeting up in person, and building friendships before the village is even finished. You won't be waiting on the sidelines, you'll be part of it as it continues to grow.
Your investment is protected. With construction costs rising and demand growing, your investment stays protected. By becoming a member now you can lock in the current house prices. Normally these types of development projects increase their prices parallel with inflation, material and labor costs, and of course the market. That's why joining now, you will benefit from the current prices and it'll make for a great investment.
You lock in your place before it's gone. With viral growth, major media coverage, and surging interest, securing one of 500 spots available in the MEV. By joining early, you're locking in the current member pricing before it rises with the project's momentum, and you get first access to reserve your ideal home and plot while choices are still available and options are open.
You shape the project as it develops. Members get first access to every update, decision, and milestone. You'll have a voice in how things take shape. If you’re someone who loves to get involved, you can also join one of our community circles, which focuses on areas like health & wellness, education, food systems, and more. We will discuss important topics like new architectural designs or decisions that shape how the community functions.
You get first access to work opportunities. The MEV is projected to create over 150 jobs. Want to open a restaurant? Run a school? Build a regenerative farm? Early members get priority as roles and business opportunities emerge. If you've been dreaming of bringing your skills to life in a meaningful way, this is your chance to bring your passions to life and contribute your skills in areas like education, food systems, wellness, gardens, and more.
Reserve your ideal home. This step comes next. Once you’re a member, you’ll get exclusive access to reserve your dream home and location. Whether you want to live closer to the school, tucked into the forest edge, near the communal areas, or facing the lake or mountains, you’ll get to choose what suits you best and we will walk you through the whole process.
☀️ Why so many of us are choosing this life
Daily life is designed to be easier. For example, having a soup kitchens in the village where we make serving 1-2 meals a day where you can grab food or meet friends. A car-free village. Schools, clinics, and shops all within walking distance. Neighbors who genuinely show up for each other.
People are tired of isolation. They're craving genuine connection, a sense of belonging, and a community that actually supports mental and emotional wellbeing.
Parents want their kids to grow up differently. More freedom, more space, surrounded by families who share their values in a car-free environment where children can roam safely.
There's a pull toward contribution. People want to be part of something meaningful, to build something bigger than themselves alongside neighbors who care. Whether through volunteering or community initiatives known as “dugnad,” there's a desire to contribute
Life stages are shifting. Some members are entering a new chapter of life, including retirement, and are looking for a renewed sense of purpose in this next chapter of life.
On a day-to-day level, life at The MEV is designed to feel easier and more enjoyable. Shared meals, a car-free setting, and access to schools, clinics, and shops, all within a community where people genuinely show up for one another.
And then there's the bigger picture. Living around people who share your values. Feeling safe, no matter what's happening in the wider world. Moving toward a bill-free life with sustainable water, energy, and food systems. An internal economy where neighbors run businesses and support each other.
It's not just a home. It's a completely different way of living.

🧺 Join us in person - May 9 Gathering
Our next gathering is Saturday, May 9 (exact time coming soon). If you've been following along from a distance, this is your chance to experience the project in person.

These gatherings have brought people together from all over Spain and beyond. As the community grows, these face-to-face moments matter even more. We're capping attendance at 100 to keep it intimate.
